Viber Voice for WP8 Submitted to Marketplace; Available Soon

We heard before that Viber voice for WP8 would be arriving on WP8 devices soon (rumor said April or March); well according to WPC the final app has been submitted to the WP marketplace and should become available within the next few days. The marketplace certification usually takes 2-3 days from what I gather so it might be ready by Monday.

I don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes at Microsoft but does anyone else find this sudden influx of apps intriguing? A couple months ago the store was stuck at a stagnant ~120-130 apps but now all of sudden loads of great games and new apps are coming, what’s the secret?

Motorola has at least 3 phones in the pipeline after the X Phone

Yesterday, there were a couple new rumors that came out regarding Motorola, the X Phone. Most of the info pertained to things that we had already talked about. Our source has confirmed that it is unlikely that the X Phone will have hardware customization, and the release window has always been for late June or July, so there has been no delay. But, we've also confirmed another part of the rumor: Motorola has at least 3 phones in the pipeline after the X Phone.

The AndroidandMe rumor claimed simply that "Motorola will still release several more Droid phones this year", but we've learned info about 3 of the devices in the pipeline. Beyond the X Phone, Motorola is working on a pair of devices for Q3. One of the devices is bigger and the other is smaller. But, we don’t know if that means the larger is phablets sized, or if it means the smaller one will be in the 4 inch “small” range.

Then, for Q4 Motorola is reportedly working on a device that may be offered unlocked at a price point that may be lower than the Nexus 4. Although, to be clear, there is no indication that any of the devices will bear the Nexus branding.

Samsung poised to lead other manufacturers in emerging markets

The Korean giant may prove to be the manufacturer of choice for many in developing markets around the world if the results of a recently performed survey hold true.

Upstream sampled 1,000 adults in Brazil, India, Nigeria and Saudi Arabia, key emerging markets for mobile. The responses were a bit surprising given that manufacturers like Nokia have dedicated resources to shore up a loyal customer base through affordable equipment options.

However, Samsung topped the sampling in three of the markets, with 32% saying that their next handset would most likely be a Samsung device. Nokia was second at 22% and BlackBerry rounded out third at 10%. In the fourth market, Nigeria, Samsung does not have a notable market presence and Nokia topped that list with 37% of respondents expressing a preference for that brand.

Mobile devices are the beneficiary of what is being described as a leapfrog past the desktop era that developed nations saw in the 1990s. In these emerging markets, that scenario is not likely to unfold at all. In Nigeria, over 60% of people rely on a mobile device versus some other computing devices.

Where is Apple in this mix? It is desirable in Saudi Arabia where there is a greater concentration of wealthy consumers willing to spend more than a few hundred dollars for a new device. Other than that, its showing in the survey was not as notable because of the lack of an affordable handset for lower income markets. That is not to say that Apple is not hot on Samsung’s trail to grab at market share, however.

While we wait to see what Apple might have up its sleeve with a supposedly cheaper iPhone in the works, it is clear that these markets are in play and that Nokia and BlackBerry are still very relevant brands.

BlackBerry roadmap shows BlackBerry 10 tablet and possible phablet

A BlackBerry roadmap was tweeted by a Twitter account named @BB10Leaks and it shows some interesting images. Of course, the beginning of the roadmap shows the already launched BlackBerry Z10 and the soon to launch BlackBerry Q10. After those two devices, things get interesting. During the third quarter, it looks like a tablet could be launched based on the image of a landscape oriented device with a large screen called the B10L. The argument against a tablet starts with some comments made recently by BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins. While the executive admitted that  BlackBerry was working on some projects to see how a tablet might work using the new OS, he also said that the tablet business is cutthroat with one company doing it well enough to grab a majority of the business. Gee, wonder what company he was talking about.

With one company already controlling the market, Heins said that BlackBerry would have to add value to a tablet  before offering a new one. This certainly doesn't sound like someone who is ready to launch a tablet by Q3. So let's move on. Between the last quarter of 2013 and the first quarter of 2014, the roadmap shows the U10 which could be a phablet based on the size of the screen. This could be the device that the CEO said he was excited about that would launch during the holiday season. Lastly, in next year's fourth quarter, the roadmap shows the R10, which could be the mid-range handset that the executive has already spoken of.

The whole road map must be looked at with a skeptical eye. Last week, Heins said that all BlackBerry 10 models would have the same 4.2 inch screen so that developers could have consistency in writing apps for all BB10 devices across the board. This roadmap could easily be faked, and yes, it could also be true. CEO's have been known to "hide the truth" before to protect unannounced products. But before we start saying that there will be a BlackBerry 10 tablet or phablet, we need to hear it it from BlackBerry first.

Microsoft changes resolution requirement, allowing for smaller Windows 8 devices

If you have been tempted by the nifty touch experience of Windows 8 tablets, but wished for some smaller sized hardware, you may have something to look forward to.

Windows 8 devices have had a minimum resolution requirement of 1366x768, which is what you would find on a Surface RT tablet. OEMs would not be allowed to affix the Windows 8 logo to their products if they went below that resolution standard.

Microsoft has changed that requirement, and it is a significant change. The minimum resolution requirement is now 1024x768, shared by the iPad mini and still in the ballpark with the Kindle Fire HD and Google Nexus 7. Microsoft is relaxing the requirement because “partners exploring designs for certain markets could find greater design flexibility helpful.”

That pretty much means smaller display options, and more compact hardware as a result.  The Kindle Fire HD and Google Nexus 7 are great sub-$200 tablets and they represent a segment that Windows 8 would be very late in joining the party should smaller Windows tablets come to market, but could certainly be a contender, especially while running the full Windows 8 operating system.

There is a significant trade-off though (there always is), manufacturers that adopt this lower resolution for their tablets must disable snap. Snap is the feature that allows to Windows Store applications to be viewed side-by-side. Moreover, OEMs that want Microsoft’s blessing must provide “conspicuous disclaimers” to customers.

The issue for Microsoft is loss of the positive experience provided by snap as a result of the lower resolution. So while the lower resolution will be permitted, the lower standard is below the “threshold for snap.”

Does this mean we can expect to see a flood of smaller Windows 8 tablets? We would not say a “flood,” but the touch experience provided by Windows 8 will fit quite nicely in a smaller package and we would be interested in seeing what a mini-Surface might offer.

ChargeCard USB Charger for the Apple iPhone and Android fits in your wallet

If you're not happy with the battery life on your phone, and want to be prepared just in case you never get the opportunity to plug into anouther outlet during the course of the day, you might be interested in ChargeCard. Funded last year by Kickstarter, this is a USB charger that is the size of a credit card and fits in your wallet. The card connects to the charging port on your phone. Then, you fold out the built in USB cable and plug it in to a USB port. The device will even allow you to recharge through a case like an Otter Box.

The ChargeCard can be pre-ordered from the sourcelink for $25, and it is expected to start shipping in May. It will fit the Apple iPhone 5, Apple iPhone 4/4S and Android models. Keep in mind that the card itself will not charge your phone,  you do need to find a USB port during your time of need. Now that might be as simple as plugging the device into your laptop, but if you have to search for a USB port, you might ask yourself what the advantage of having the ChargeCard is. Well, it can replace the bulky A/C wires and chargers not to mention USB cables that you always are stuffing in your pocket. And you can always use it at Best Buy or other tech stores. While you're pretending to look over that one laptap, you can be recharging your phone by using your ChargeCard to connect to its USB port.

Sony working on 5-inch midrange device with qua-core MT chip

According to industry sources Sony is looking to expand its portfolio by bringing an affordable quad-core 5-incher to market. Details on specs are scarce but the device may be powered by the MediaTek MT6589 SoC, which offers four Cortex-A7 cores.
According to said sources the device production will be outsourced to Arima.

Arima is working with Sony on the budget-friendly Xperia E. Sony is also reportedly working with Compal Communications and Foxconn and plans for them to produce between 8 and 10 million devices this year.

Facebook will hold an Android related event on April 4

Facebook sent out invitations for an announcement next week, on April 4. Carrying  the slogan " Come see our new hone on Android", the press invite gives more than a subtle hint that Google's mobile OS will play a leading role.

A likely product to be revealed at the San Francisco Bay Arena event is a rumored, Facebook phone running Android. HTC is the social networking giant's likely partner in the venture, as the companies have already worked closely together in the past.
The event will take place on April 4 at 1PM ET.

Analysts predict Samsung will see record sales in Q1 this year

Samsung had a great final quarter in 2012 the new year will be even better, according to analysts from Counterpoint Research. They estimate that Samsung managed to sell about 25 million phones each month this year, putting them on track for a 70 + million sales Q1, which will be a new record for the company, defying lower seasonal demand.

Over the two full months that have passed this year, Samsung's market share rose to 35% (up from 32 % in the final quarter last year). Main rival Apple is also in the rise, sitting at 21 % (up from 17%). LG saw small gain too - 4.3% (up from 4 %)- and is currently behind Chinese market ZTE ( 4.6 % ) and Huawei (4.4%).

The predict record sales and rising market share leads analysts to believe Samsung will post an operating profit of about $7.7 billion, in line with market prediction. When the full Q1 report comes out we'll get concrete numbers, plus a final look at how the Galaxy S III performed on the market before the Galaxy S IV takes over.

Samsung Electronics appoints two new CEOs, now has three

Two of Samsung's highest ranked executives - the presidents Boo-keun Yoon and J.K. Shin - have now been announced as co-CEOs of Samsung Electronics.
This move stems from acknowledging the three true pillars of Samsung's business and the need for their respective leaders to stand on equally high level in the corporate ladder.

The three co-CEOs (left to right): Oh-Hyun Kwon • J.K. Shin • Boo-keun Yoon
So far president Boo-keun Yoon took care of Samsung's TV and appliance business, while president J.K. Shin oversaw the operations in the mobile field. These two will continue to manage their respective fields, but will do so as co-CEOs.
The new appointments recognize the strong performance of President Yoon and President Shin. Under President Yoon, Samsung’s TV business maintained and solidified its global leadership position after becoming global No. 1 in 2006. Under President Shin, Samsung’s mobile business posted significant growth and attained global No.1 position in smartphones in 2011 and in overall mobile phones in 2012.
They are now ranked equally high as the current CEO and vice chairman of Samsung Electronics - Oh-Hyun Kwon. Besides being a CEO, he is also directly in charge of the Device Solutions. That's the Samsung branch, which takes care of component manufacturing - such as memory, chipsets and LEDs. Kwon was himself appointed CEO only eight months ago.
Of course, the head of Samsung Electronics remains Lee Kun-hee, the company's Chairman. He is the son of Samsung Group founder Lee Byung-chull, and his own son - Lee Jae-yong (a.k.a. Jay Y. Lee), a current vice chairman and COO himself - is dubbed as the heir apparent to the chairmanship.

Nokia wins a patent suit against HTC in Germany

Nokia is currently suing HTC in Germany on 22 cases, but one of them is finally coming to an end. The court has ruled that HTC used a battery-saving patent, owned by Nokia, in three of its smartphones.
The patent is about some battery-saving procedures while a device is connected to a network. It was infringed by three HTC phones, but all of them are already discontinued in Germany so the ruling won't affect HTC sales in the country.
Nokia expressed its satisfactions via an email statement:
"Nokia is pleased with this decision, which confirms the quality of Nokia's patent portfolio."
HTC is preparing to appeal the decision while continuing its efforts for invalidation of the patent in German and English courts.

Nokia rolls out Camera Extras and Cinemagraph apps for WP7

Nokia has just launched two new camera apps for the first generation Lumia devices. The new apps are Camera Extras and Cinemagraph and are available for Lumia WP7-running 510, 610, 710, 800 and 900.
Both camera apps were previously only available on Windows Phone 8-powered Lumias. The Camera Extras offers Smart Shoot, Action Shot, Panorama and self-shot feature, while the Cinemagraph shoots a few seconds short video and transforms in into an animated picture (gif).

You can find both apps in the Windows Phone 7 marketplace right now. You can also hit the source link below and scan the bar codes.

Galaxy S4 to help Samsung double its market share lead

Samsung is looking to take an even larger lead over the competition this year, thanks largely to its new Galaxy S4 flagship.
In 2011, just two short years ago, Nokia was the top dog in terms of phones sold, holding some 30% of the market. Then Samsung, which rides the Android wave better than anyone else, took center, rising to 29% in just one year, with most of that market share being taken straight from Nokia.

Market research firm IHS iSuppli has predicted that Samsung will double its lead in 2013 - in other words it will lead the next largest OEM by 11 percent points rather than 5. Although it did not care to predict exactly how much of the market Samsung will control in 2013, it did say that thanks to its "massive worldwide rollout through almost every operator, the lifestyle focus of the S4 will help drive Samsung’s market share sharply in 2013."
Given how well the Samsung Galaxy S4 looked in our preview, it's not hard to envision another great year for Samsung.

RUMOR: The next iPhone will likely be a marginal update

Sources from the Apple supply chain are at it again. This time the rumors circulate around the end of May arrival of components, which would point to an arrival of the next iPhone in the the third quarter of this year.
According to said sources the next iPhone will allegedly be a marginal upgrade of the iPhone 5 (perhaps called the iPhone 5S). The next-gen iPhone should come with an improved processor, perhaps a higher-megapixel camera with new module or even a redesigned flash ("Smart Flash") with white and yellow LEDs in order to improve color reproduction.

Foxconn Electronics chairman Terry Guo has noted that he expects company performance to start picking up after April or May, which could coincide with the beginning of the production of the latest iPhone.
According to the sources if the components supply goes smoothly the next-gen iDevice could be delivered to retail channels in 1 to 2 weeks time, which would mean a realistic Q3 launch (Apple needs to gather up stock as the production rate is far lower than initial demand).
Finally reports are mentioning a cheaper, plastic-made iPhone too, but as we are getting the "cheaper iPhone" each year we take those rumors with an extra pinch of salt. Besides, every time the new iPhone comes out last-year's model gets discounted, technically making it the "cheaper iPhone".

Heins: Android and WP are not mobile computing platforms

BlackBerry CEO, Thorsten Heins, in an interview with Computerworld, said that Android and Windows Phone as not sharing his vision of a "mobile computing future" where mobile devices could be used for the same tasks as computers.

He also added that Android and Windows Phone "are not mobile computing platforms" but didn't specify in what regard exactly.
Heins said BlackBerry "really thought hard about" building BB services for Windows Phone and Android but rejected the idea for the aforementioned reasons. He didn't say anything about iOS, however.
When asked if BlackBerry will build a BlackBerry 10 OS tablet device Mr Heins noted "We are running a few projects" on "how we can take it to the next stage and not just be another tablet". He added "If I build a tablet, I will not build it for the hardware purpose... I will do this around a service".

A new Motorola smartphone leaks, isn't the X Phone

An unknown Motorola smartphone has starred in a hands-on video on the Vietnamese Tinhe blog, which has leaked several high-profile smartphones in the past.

According to the reports, the yet unannounced Motorola smartphone carriers the XT912A model number, which leads us to believe it might be a replacement for the Droid RAZR(which carriers XT912 label).

The source claims that this isn't the enigmatic " X Phone" that we are eagerly looking forward to.The evidence to support this is the leaked smartphone's 4-inch AMOLED display of HD resolution and Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset. Its CPU clock speed is yet to be confirmed, but we already know an Adreno 32 GPU and 2GB of RAM on board.

The specs sheet is also said to feature a 2000 mAh battery. As for the phone's XT912A'a design, it shows that Motorola is taking a whole new desing direction on 2013.The phone itself  is on the thin side, and                            features a curved back similar to that of HTC One.

Samsung to update the Galaxy S III with a better screen and battery

Samsung might be on a refreshed Galaxy S III edition with a better display,a bigger battery and wireless charging. Reportedly, the new battery capacity will be a 2400 mAh- 14% more powerful than the original unit.

There is no information on what "better display" means, while the wireless charging is self-explanatory.

If you follow Samsung closely, you'll already know the manufacturer has a tradition of refreshing its old flagships. We guess that the update Galaxy S III announcement  will only happen after the Galaxy S IV hype has settled down a bi, though.

Confirmed: Samsung Galaxy S IV to use PowerVR SXG 544 graphics

Samsung unveiled the Exynos 5 Octa platform a while ago, but it didn't specify the graphics it used. With the Exynos 5 chipset (the one inside the Nexus 10) Samsung used the ARM's Mali T604 GPU chips.
Today Imagination Technologies announced its PowerVR SGX 544 graphics has been used in the Samsung 5410 Octa chipset, which will be powering the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S IV.
The Power VR SGX 544 GPU is available in three-core (544MP3) and quad-core (544MP4) configurations and AnandTech believes the first of those will be ticking inside the Galaxy S IV. We'll know for sure in two days' time when the official announcement comes.

Nokia 808 PureView and 701 get a firmware update

If you thought the Symbian platform was already dead, you thought wrong. Nokia has just pushed a "Telephony update" for the Symbian OS on Nokia 701 and 808 PureView.
The update is small in size and you can get it over-the-air.

According to the log, the update is called Telephony update and brings "quality improvements". There are no new features to come with it, but the fact that Nokia pushed it probably means you better get it. It will most probably fix those network-switching glitches that some people were experiencing.

HTC video shows process of building the HTC One

The HTC One is the Taiwan manufacturer's lone flagship model for 2013, according to the company. The problem is that this phone will have to go up against the juggernaut that is called the Samsung Galaxy S 4 which Samsung believes will sell 100 million units in a year. But if there is one weakness in Sammy's flagship, it could be the plastic build of the device. If that is the case, and buyers are tired of holding a lightweight phone that feels vulnerable, the HTC One might give them another way to go.

Built from a slab of aluminum, HTC's zero-gap design uses no moving parts in a "seamless" experience. An electro-chemical etching process is used and a special cutter designed by HTC helps produce the palm fitting curve of the HTC One. You can check it out yourself with the video below, which HTC previewed at the New York introduction of the phone and is now available for everyone to view.

Samsung Galaxy Note III rumored to sport a 5.9-inch display

The Galaxy Note II has only six month in the market, but the rumors of the newt generation Galaxy Note phablet have already started to make its rounds. The potential successor of the sensational Galaxy Note II is said to feature a 5.9'' display.

Samsung Galaxy Note III is also rumored to come out with an AMOLED display and the phablet is very likely to use the latest octa-core processors from the company, but take it all with a pinch of salt, since the information is not from an official source.

Intel said to be in talks to produce chips for Apple

According to a person who is close to one of the two companies involved, Intel is said to be talking to Apple about building chips for the iPhone manufacturer based on Apple's specs. This is not Intel's usual MO, but if turning into a contract manufacturer helps it gain a higher profile in the mobile world, Intel doesn't seem to mind. Last week, the chip maker said that it would build chips for Altera using the latter's design, thus helping Intel enter the "foundry" business. Intel already has a line of chips for mobile devices, and some handsets, like the Motorola RAZR i are built with them inside. ZTE also used Intel silicon inside the ZTE Grand X IN, but these are off the shelf chips and not produced using another company's design.

Intel is talking to Apple about using Apple's specs to produce chips for the Cupertino based firm

Supposedly, this isn't the first time that Apple and Intel have had these discussions. Some analysts are wondering why Intel is talking and not just signing the deal. Pat Becker Jr, of Becker Capital Management says that this deal is a no-brainer for Intel considering the other party involved. Becker says such a deal also is beneficial for Apple.

Even though becoming a foundry is risky, with business heavily dependent on the state of the economy, most analysts agree that this is a step Intel needs to take. Without a strong presence in mobile, Intel could lose its place as the top chip maker, a title already threatened by Samsung. And speaking of Apple's Korean rival, Intel's $2 billion addition in capital expenditures this year to $13 billion helped fuel the fire that Intel was ready to take over the production of Apple's chip needs from Samsung.

"If you can have a strategic relationship where you're making chips for one of the largest mobile players, you should definitely consider that. And for Apple, that gets them a big advantage."-Pat Becker Jr., Becker Capital Management

Nokia confirms it will receive more than it gives to Microsoft in 2013

Nokia will has received more money from Microsoft than it has paid for Windows Phone royalties, the company said today in a 20-F filing. Microsoft has been paying Nokia $250 million to support its tough transition from Symbian to Windows Phone as its one and only smartphone platform.

Nokia on the other hand still has to pay an undisclosed amount of money to license every device it sells that is running on Microsoft’s Windows Phone.

And while over the whole period of the agreement Nokia will have to pay more to Microsoft, in 2013, the balance sheet will be in its favor as the amount it receives as platform support from Microsoft will exceed the money Nokia pays for licenses.

Here is the Microsoft part of Nokia’s 20-F filing:

Our agreement with Microsoft includes platform support payments from Microsoft to us as well as software royalty payments from us to Microsoft. Under the terms of the agreement governing the platform support payments, the amount of each quarterly platform support payment is USD 250 million. We have a competitive software royalty structure, which includes annual minimum software royalty commitments that vary over the life of the agreement. Software royalty payments, with minimum commitments are paid quarterly. Over the life of the agreement, both the platform support payments and the minimum software royalty commitments are expected to measure in the billions of US dollars. Over the life of the agreement the total amount of the platform support payments is expected to slightly exceed the total amount of the minimum software royalty commitment payments. As of the end of 2012, the amount of platform support payments received by Nokia has exceeded the amount of minimum software royalty commitment payments made to Microsoft, thus the net cash flows have been in our favor. As a result, the remaining minimum software royalty commitment payments are expected to exceed the remaining platform support payments by a total of approximately EUR 0.5 billion over the remaining life of the agreement. However, in 2013 the amount of the platform support payments is expected to slightly exceed the total amount of the minimum software royalty commitment payments, thus the net cash flows are still expected to be slightly in our favor. In accordance with the terms of the agreement, the platform support payments and annual minimum software royalty commitment payments continue for a corresponding period of time. We have recognized a portion of the received platform support payments as a benefit to our Smart Devices cost of goods sold and the remainder as a liability as part of accrued expenses and other liabilities on our balance sheet.

Nokia joins Apple to secure injunction against Samsung

Nokia has made a surprise move by supporting its rival market Apple to secure injunctions on several Samsung's products. The Finnish manufacturer will remain the only alien company to support the Cupertino giant in its appeal.

Nokia in its filling at the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington argued that the court was wrong in denying the Apple's plead for the injunctions.

Apple had requested the Federal Circuit to speed up its appeal and schedule a hearing immediately.
The court however has rejected Apple's plea and has a referred the  case to a three member judge panel.

Nokia celebrates 2 million Lumia devices sold in China

Nokia team have celebrated two million Nokia Lumia activations in China alone.
More impressively,it took only the company from  December 5 through March 5 to achieve this. What's even more encouraging is the fact that there were severe Lumia 920 supply shortages at the end of last year, which undoubtedly slowed the sales.

Neverthelees,Nokia has had a small celebration led by the company's VP and head of Nokia China Gustavo Eichelmann.

The Chinese version of the Nokia Lumia 520 and 720 are expected to hit shelves in the coming weeks helping the company pave the way to a decent first quarter earnings report.

Ultrapixel Camera ‘could’ come to lower-level HTC smartphones

The HTC One is not only a beautifully designed device that packs an impressive hardware muscle - it also goes against the mass-market trend of increasing megapixel count and instead focuses on image quality with less but larger pixels and some optical image stabilization. The One comes with a dedicated ImageChip 2, a piece of silicon that allows faster image processing.

Good news is that some of that ‘could’ come to lower-level HTC smartphones.

Asked whether the UltraPixel camera will land in more affordable HTC devices, HTC UK head Phil Robertson said: “It could … the core is around the sensor and the image chip that we are using.”

Don’t expect the full scale of improvements that the HTC One brings, though, as the Snapdragon 600 chip is a key part of the performance of the camera. More affordable devices clearly won’t feature such a powerful chip.

“However, the Qualcomm chipset [used in the HTC One] does enable a lot of this to happen. The ability to take HD video and high-res images at the same time is powered by the quad-core on the device, as well,” Robertson noted.

Additionally, the HTC UK did say that a lot of HTC One features like BlinkFeed will make their way to other smartphones by the company.

Android in Feb 2013: Jelly Bean grows, Gingerbread dominates

The platform distribution numbers for Android in February are out and they bring little surprises. The trends from the previous few months continue, with Jelly Bean gaining ground on ICS and the now long outdated Gingerbread.

The Gingerbread userbase has dropped from 45.6% to 44.2%, but this is still enough to make it the most popular Android version globally. And given that Gingerbread is more than two years old now, this hardly bodes too well for Android OEMs and their updates.
The ICS has seen a drop of 0.4 percent points, but it still holds nearly twice bigger market share than the two Jelly Bean releases combined.
The good news is that the Jelly Bean user base is up by 3 percent points over the previous month and the latest version of Android is starting to quickly gain traction now. Still, it remains to be seen if Jelly Bean will become the most widely-spread Android release before its Key Lime Pie successor comes in the summer.

iMore site, there are rumors that the new iPhone will soon be on the market.

Apple plans to announce a new iPhone 5S-phone next summer, probably in August.

The next generation of iPads will be launched on in April. The write iMore web-page.

The site of the new iPhone 5S is similar to the previous design, but its processor is more advanced and better camera.

The site also know that Apple will not launch the iPads, which would pay more already on the market. The new iPad would be five preliminary data, the thinner and lighter than its predecessors.

Wrote the article Rene Ritchie kept well-informed to document an Apple supplier. He has also reported on the iPad Mini design before its launch.

Next Apple iPhone might feature a smart stylus, rumor suggests

As the rumor has it Apple might be working on a smart stylus for its next-gen iPhone 6. It should work the similar way as the Note and Note II S-Pens but support even more functionality.
You should definitely take this one with a healthy pinch of salt as it's coming from The Sun, which is not exactly known for its tech industry coverage. Anyway the tabloid's sources had it that the next iPhone will have a smart stylus, just like the S-Pen on the Note smartphones.
The rumor also has it that the next flagship by Apple will offer some sort of motion gesture password protection and mini barcode scanner.
What lends some credence to those rumors is the fact that Apple recently filed three patents for stylus technology. The Cupertino giant might simply be preparing for another legal round (with Samsung probably), but it might be getting ready to try and attack the Koreans' Note lineup instead. We guess only time will tell.

Analyst: Apple iWatch could be $6 billion business

According to Citicorp analyst Oliver Chen, the rumored Apple iWatch could produce some very profitable numbers for Apple. Chen expects the Cupertino based company to snag 10% of the $60 billion world-wide watch industry and he says that it could be big if Apple were to "create something totally new like they did with the iPod -- something consumers didn’t even know they needed." According to those with inside information of the device, features being considered for the iWatch include an ability to make and take calls, offer some type of mapping capabilities and count steps like a pedometer. It will also be designed to monitor a person's health through data like heart rate.

Apple has applied for a patent on a device worn on the wrist using a flexible display

Apple is said to have 100 engineers working on the project and has filed at least 79 patents that include the word "wrist". A recently discovered patent application revealed that Apple has considered building some type of device for the wrist that uses a flexible screen, powered by solar and kinetic energy.

This isn't the first time that a tech company tried to get into the watch business. In 2003, Microsoft teamed with watchmakers Citizen Watch Co. and Fossil to build a watch that would deliver sports scores, weather and traffic reports. By 2008, the team had dissolved. But now, the watch business is booming with companies like Fossil and Movado Group Inc enjoying margins in excess of 55% That makes it a perfect time for Apple to show that it still knows a thing or two about innovation.

While an iWatch might sound like a great idea for Apple, there is a device that could offer competition even if it is not another watch. Google has Google Glass that will apparently hit the market by the end of this year although there is no indication that the two are mutually exclusive of each other.

Chromed Nokia Lumia 900?

Now check out this Chromed 900. At first it looks like an additional case but it’s the shell that has been chromed.

Nokia set to make a nano-coated water resistant phone with P2i

Like Hz0 which we saw last year, P2i protects your phone on a molecular level making liquid substances bounce off the motherboard and various other internals. The advantage of this type of protection is that it doesn't involve the vacuum caps and lids, which some devices feature (the Xperia Z comes to mind) and the phone has all the usual open spots like a headphone jack, micro USB port, etc. According to sources, Nokia is working with P2i on a water-repelling phone for 2013. The two companies reportedly struck a deal at the Mobile World Congress a couple of days ago but there's no word on what phone (perhaps plural?) will have the coating. P2i has reportedly worked with Alcatel One Touch devices, the new Huawei Ascend D2, Motorola, etc. Rumor has it that the upcoming Lumia 1000 EOS with the PureView sensor on board could be the pioneer Guinea pig. Here are the benefits of P2i's nano-coating technology.
